Poca Favilla Productions is an independent production company developing bilingual film and story projects between the UK and Italy. We focus on character-led narratives shaped by language, place, and cultural tension.

Founded in London with a creative presence in the Veneto, Poca Favilla develops projects at the intersection of language, culture, and place that explore how people shape identity and find belonging between worlds.

Our work is driven by long-form development, close creative collaboration, and a commitment to emotional realism and restrained, character-led drama. We are interested in work that connects emotionally and leaves space for reflection.

Who We Are

Poca Favilla brings together two writers from very different worlds. Jonathan Hayward came to writing after a successful business career. Following the sale of a company he founded, he immersed himself in Italian language and culture, then pursuing a long-held creative ambition that became a second coming of age. Alexandra Brett grew up between Italian and Irish cultures, bringing to the story a lived understanding of bilingual identity and belonging. As both an actress and writer working in two languages, she understands instinctively how language shapes identity and how people perform different versions of themselves in different environments.

Collaboration is central to how we work. We believe the best work emerges when different perspectives meet. We have already seen how much stronger a project can become when people challenge our thinking and bring ideas we could not have reached alone. We want to continue working that way, helping each project become the strongest version of itself.

If making the work matters as much as the work we make, then the work is better for it.
